Description

The initiative aims to foster collaboration and improve resource allocation by creating a platform for sharing knowledge, resources, and best practices across the organisation. It addresses issues that had been identified within the organisation, such as lack of collaboration, inconsistent processes, and duplication of efforts, ensuring a unified approach to project management and enhancing overall efficiency

Who

The Enterprise Project Management Office Manager, Customer & Corporate Services Director and Project Management Business Partners are the key stakeholders. The initiative has the support and endorsement of the Director of Customer & Corporate Services who also attended the initial launch of the program.

How

The initiative includes several components: a Community of Practice for project management, a SharePoint site for shared templates, information, and resources, and Lunchbox learning sessions for project management.

The Project Management Business Partner spends approximately 10 hours organizing each session, including researching topics, finding presenters, and handling administration. There is no budget for external presenters.

The sessions are held four times a year, with topics directed by participant feedback to ensure relevance and engagement. The initiative is supported by regular surveys and feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the process.

Outcome

The initiative has led to increased collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation, improved connections between teams, and a better understanding of who to reach out to for answers. It has fostered a culture of continuous learning and networking, breaking down barriers and making it easier for staff to learn from each other. The initiative is expected to enhance communication, trust, and collaboration, leading to more efficient resource allocation and consistent project management practices.
